What is Organic Cacao Powder?
Organic Cacao Powder originates from South America. Produced by organic growers in Peru and harvested as pods from the Theobroma Cacao Tree, Cacao Powder is selected from raw beans and then fermented, a process which reduces their original bitterness.
After being thoroughly cleaned, the dried beans are peeled, extracted and broken into ‘nibs’, which can be ground to form Cacao paste. Once the fat has been extracted from the paste, the residue is dried and ground into Organic Cacao Powder. Certified ‘Organic’ by the Soil Association under the code GB-ORG-05.
