Tips With Annie: How To Stay Healthy When Busy

The importance of living and eating healthily is becoming increasingly important. But so are the pressures and stresses of modern life. So how do we juggle an active, healthy lifestyle while tackling our workload? How do we stay healthy when busy?

If you feel like you try to make healthy choices but feel like you just don’t have the time, then you’re not alone. 75% of us skip meals because we’re too busy. 75% of us avoid exercise because we’ve had a long day. 75% eat-to-go because they don’t have time to prepare meals. But this is actually counter-intuitive.

Why Is It Important To Stay Healthy When Busy?

We are busy. Between work, school, children, parents, partners, pets, bills, and everything else, it can be difficult to find time to look after yourself by being healthy. But it’s when you’re at your busiest that your body needs to be at its healthiest. Your body needs to be in peak physical condition so that it stays fighting fit and protects you against colds, flus, and other illnesses.

Buddah sums this up perfectly: “To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.”

So how do we stay healthy when busy?

Annie’s Tips For Healthy Living For Busy People

We sat down with fitness and lifestyle blogger, Annie Openshaw-Blower. As the co-founder of two companies, she is a bit of an expert on how to stay healthy when busy.

As much as I love my job, as well as the flexibility that it brings, the eating, working and sleeping in one place does have its negatives and can be a lil distracting from time to time.

  1. Stay Hydrated

Every bit of our body needs water to function. So not drinking enough water deprives your body parts of the things that it needs. In turn, that can lead to our body not being able to function very well. Drinking lots of water and staying hydrated is important..

  2. Get Your Steps In

My gym sessions are important to me, but with a busy schedule, they can seem impossible to fit in. So instead, actively trying to up your daily step count in can help! Any activity that gets your heart rate up counts towards your exercise goals so try to walk more every day. I like to have walking meetings at work, but you could try parking your car a little further away than you normally would, or always taking the stairs.

  3. Take Your Vitamins

I don’t think I need to tell you that being busy often leads to stress. Chronic stress can actually strip our bodies of vitamins, so it’s important to replenish them. B Vitamins, Calcium, and Iron are key, which are all blended into an easy, two-a-day multivitamin, Be Your Best.

  4. Stay Positive

It can be tough to have a positive outlook when you’re juggling all of the different pressures of life. But taking a moment to appreciate what you have and believing that you can achieve your goals is as an important part of looking after yourself. Believe in yourself. You can!
