10 Outstanding Cycling Holidays

Looking for an adventure holiday on two wheels? A cycling holiday is an awesome way to see a country, and stay fit (so you can eat more.) Here are 10 of our suggestions.

Provence, France
Take a trip to the south of France, and cycle through immensely beautiful landscapes along the coast which inspired the likes of Picasso. Breathe in the sea air, and some of the most stunning views in Europe, as you make your way towards Nice.

Vietnam, Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh
One for the more adventurous amongst you. Take the road between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, for a cultural experience like no other. Travel might cost you a bit, but the food is outstanding and really cheap.

Green Metropolis Leisure Route, Germany
One of the most popular routes for cyclists in Germany, takes you on a 370km trip through mostly easy to navigate terrain, and some amazing views.

Paris, France
The City of Love loves bicycles, and if you’ve got someone special to take with you for the weekend, a jaunt through the streets of Paris can be a wonderful way to stay active, and see the sights.
Pack: Ape Coconut Snacks

Ireland’s west coast
Pubs, music, and the jumping off point for thrilling adventures to the Americas, take a bike ride up or down the west coast of Ireland, for an experience that won’t cost the Earth.

California, United States
The California road trip is an experience everyone should aim for, in our opinion, and while the car is a great way to get around if you’re going long distances, make the most of the weather, and get easy access to some of the best sights by hiring bikes and cycling one of the most famous places in the world.
Pack: blk water

Northern Spain
You don’t have to go too far from the UK to find a world completely different to the peaks and valleys of home. Northern Spain has some pretty challenging routes laid out for you, and if you like mountains, this is a great place to kick off your trip.
Pack: MyVitamins Complete Electrolytes

Heritage Trail, Vienna to Prague
This famous five day trail takes in scenery from some of the most beautiful, traditional villages in Europe. A real treat for history lovers, and truly the ride of a lifetime. If we were to recommend just one route, it would probably be this one.

Maybe not one which comes to mind right away, but Cambodia is famous amongst cyclists as one of the most challenging, rewarding and scenically awesome countries on the planet. Organised tours are possible, and highly recommended. Visit the many temples and state treasures along the way. Find out more about organised cycle tours in Cambodia here.

Lake District, UK
We couldn’t round off our list without including somewhere close to home, and the Lakes are perfect for our money. Hills, flats, forests, pubs and enchanting lakes — what more could you ask for on a cycling holiday?
